Terms & Conditions

Welcome to ajabuwild.com. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website and the bespoke safari journeys we arrange. By visiting our website or booking a journey with us, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or book with us.

General Use of the Website

  • You agree to use ajabuwild.com only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe upon the rights of others.
  • You must not misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with its proper working.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

Eligibility

  • By using this website and booking with us, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.
  • If you are under 18, you may only use the site and travel with us under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

Safaris & Services

  • Every Ajabu Wild journey is bespoke. Itineraries, camps, lodges, routes, and activities are subject to availability and may change before or during your trip.
  • We make every effort to describe our journeys and destinations accurately, but descriptions and images are intended as a guide and may differ from what you experience in the field.
  • Some journeys involve remote travel and physically demanding activities. We may decline a booking, or adjust an itinerary, where we believe it is necessary for the safety or wellbeing of travellers.

Bookings & Confirmation

  • We design and quote each journey individually. A booking becomes confirmed only once we have received your deposit and issued you a written confirmation.
  • It is your responsibility to check that the details in your confirmation and itinerary are correct and to tell us promptly of any errors.

Pricing & Payment

  • Prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise, and are confirmed in your written quote.
  • A deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the balance due before travel — the amounts and dates are set out in your booking confirmation.
  • Your quote sets out what is and is not included. Costs such as international flights, visas, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included unless expressly stated.
  • You are responsible for any additional charges such as bank fees or international transaction fees.
  • We may cancel a booking where payment is invalid, incomplete, overdue, or suspected to be fraudulent.

Changes & Cancellations

  • If you need to change or cancel a confirmed booking, please tell us as soon as possible. Cancellation charges may apply, as set out in your booking confirmation.
  • Wilderness travel is unpredictable. Weather, wildlife, road, water, and safety conditions may require us to alter routes, camps, or activities at short notice, including during your journey.
  • Where we must make a significant change before departure, we will discuss the alternatives with you. We are not liable for changes caused by circumstances beyond our control.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travelling with us. Your policy should cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation and curtailment, and the remote and adventurous activities included in your journey. Please ensure your cover is adequate for travel in remote areas of northern Kenya.

Passports, Visas & Health

  • You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visas required for your journey.
  • You are responsible for meeting all health, vaccination, and entry requirements that apply to your travel.
  • Please tell us in advance of any medical conditions, dietary needs, or mobility considerations so we can plan your journey appropriately.

Risk & Liability

  • Our journeys take place in remote wilderness and may include camping, hiking, and travel over rugged terrain. These activities carry inherent risks, and you take part in them at your own risk.
  • You agree to follow the reasonable instructions of our guides and to conduct yourself safely and with respect for the environment and local communities.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss, injury, damage, or expense arising from risks inherent in wilderness travel or from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in providing your journey caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural events, fire, flood, drought, epidemic or pandemic, civil unrest, government action, or disruption to transport or infrastructure.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Nairobi, Kenya.
